He was born in Columbus, Ohio, and resides in Phoenix, Arizona. Vocab’s ministry focus is urban apologetics and cultural worldview analysis (e.g., theology of superhero films). He honed his apologetic art in street evangelism encounters with the new atheists on the campus of Arizona State University. He began an apologetics blog in 2007 and his first formal debate (with Jeff Durbin as his partner) was in 2011. Since then, he has participated in numerous debates and discussions with various groups, especially Muslims. He obtained a Master’s Degree from Phoenix Seminary and is in the process of working on a doctorate of ministry under JP Moreland. Vocab enjoys coffee, ComiCon life, and general nostalgia.
